Improve Your Smile With Dental Veneers
S&C Dental Scottsdale Ranch can boost your smile with dental veneers in Scottsdale, AZ and surrounding areas. Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells that cover the front surface of your teeth. They come from porcelain or composite resin material and improve the color, shape, size, or length of teeth. Veneers correct imperfections like chipped, stained, or misaligned teeth, and help with gaps between teeth and minor bite issues. With dental veneers, you can achieve a beautiful smile without undergoing invasive treatments.
Porcelain, Composite or Prepless: Which Veneer Is Right for You?
We offer all three. Here is how they compare, so you can come to your consultation knowing the trade-offs.
Porcelain Veneers
Material: Lab-made porcelain
Tooth prep: A thin layer of enamel is usually removed
Visits: Usually two, a few weeks apart
Staining: Highly stain resistant
Lifespan: The longest of the three. One long-term study found 93.5% still in place at 10 years.
Best for: Bigger changes in color and shape, and the most durable result
Composite Veneers
Material: Tooth-colored resin, sculpted in the office
Tooth prep: Little or none
Visits: One
Staining: Can stain over time. Polished at cleanings.
Lifespan: Shorter than porcelain. 88% survival over two to eight years in a 2023 review. Easy to repair.
Best for: Chips, gaps, uneven edges, a same-day result and a lower cost
Prepless Veneers
Material: Ultra-thin lab-made porcelain
Tooth prep: None or minimal. Enamel is kept.
Visits: Usually two
Staining: Highly stain resistant
Lifespan: About 97% survival over two to nine years in a 2025 review of no-prep veneers
Best for: Small, worn or spaced teeth, and keeping your natural enamel
Survival figures come from published studies (Beier 2012; Lim 2023; Hameed 2025) and are not a guarantee for any one patient. Results depend on your bite, habits and care.
What Is the Dental Veneer Process?
At S&C Dental Scottsdale Ranch, getting dental veneers is a straightforward process that begins with a consultation. During this appointment, our experienced dentists will assess your oral health and discuss your goals to determine whether veneers are the right choice. Here’s what to expect with our dental veneer process:
- Consultation—We discuss your smile goals and evaluate your oral health to determine whether veneers are suitable.
- Tooth Preparation—A small amount of enamel is removed to ensure a comfortable, natural fit for the veneers.
- Impression and Lab Work—Impressions are taken and sent to our lab to create your custom veneers.
- Placement Appointment—Your veneers are bonded to your teeth and make any adjustments to ensure a perfect fit and appearance.
What Are the Benefits of Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers offer a transformative solution for improving the appearance of your smile. They improve self-confidence and can last a lifetime with proper brushing and flossing. Here are some of the benefits of getting custom veneers:
We customize your veneers to match the color and appearance of your teeth. Porcelain looks like natural teeth, so those who see your smile won’t know you’ve had cosmetic dentistry completed.
Veneers offer a fast, painless way to fix chipped, missing, or misshapen teeth, gaps, and stains with immediate results. They are a durable, long-term solution that resists decay and staining, making them a lasting investment in your smile.
Only half a millimeter of the tooth’s front surface is removed, much less than a crown needs. Afterward, a special cement securely bonds the veneer to the tooth, completing the process.
You don’t need to complete any special tasks or use particular tools to maintain your veneers. Maintain regular brushing and flossing habits to keep your custom veneers in good condition.
